It's a Renault prototype from the 1960's.Precursor to the Renault 16.

It is the 1961 Project 114.This had a 2.0 Litre 6 cylinder engine and was a RWD saloon.Although there was also a 1.5 Litre 4 cylinder engine. It had independent rear suspension which on some prototypes had a form of pneumatic suspension.Replaced by project 115 which was the Renault 16.

Yes, that answers what I was looking for.
The designer was apparently Michel Beligond.
