Is the company primarily known for other things than cars ?

Wendax

The company (or the man behind it) was known for small cars, another car-related field of activity and for motorcycles.

Standard / Gutbrod?
It looks a bit like there might be a Standard Superior connection.

Ernst Neumann-Neander?

Wendax

Yes, I'll have to check tonight whether I have any more detailed information about this car which I need for the point or not.

Wendax

This Neander is not mentioned in Trapp's book, so just give me a reasonable year and the point is yours.

Paul Jaray

I'll have to look at what I have about him...late 40s?

Odd number, like 1933?

Wendax

Paul Jaray

And that 'odd' like 35?

Wendax

Even would be even better.

Yes, according to a registration list the only year when Neander cars were registered in Düsseldorf (IY) was 1938. It is quite unusual for a Neander that the passengers were seated side by side.

Allan L

Düsseldorf registration is quite appropriate since the Neanderthal, from which the pre-human takes its name, is nearby - or was that where Ernst Neumann got the second barrel of his name from anyway?
Opinionated but sometimes wrong
