It should read Degiovanni and not De Giovanni.  ;)

But it is a Sprite chassis, yes?

I had a closer look at the details of the lower sections of this car and I am sure it has a Sprite chassis and modified Sprite upper bodywork. Searching for Frogeye Sprite on the 'net and finding a picture of a similar front view of an actual Sprite shows the characteristic Sprite/Midget 'turnup' of the lower valance shut-line at the base of the bonnet. The A-pillar between the bonnet and door shut-lines is identical, as is the windscreen and its attachments to the scuttle. The door, too is as per Sprite and even the rear wing, although slightly modified, is pretty much the same. The built-in jacking point is in the same place as the Sprite's.

Would anyone go to all the trouble of imitating these features on a one-off build, when all they need to do to get the desired result is to use a Sprite chassis and body in the first place?

Anyone else like to comment on the above?

Acording to Mr. Degiovanni blog the body is based on a fiberglass Frogeye and the windscreen is genuine Austin Healey..the chassis however is not Frogeye but is made out of tubing..
