Which car is this?
Stanguellini?
Talbot - Lago?
No Stanguellini, no Talbot
It´s a Citroën carrossée en 1949 par Waters en Angleterre, all that I have,
Regards,Red Baron
yes
Just found some additional information on this car.
It was called the CDW and was destroyed by fire in 1949.
(by the way shouldn't Red Baron have a point for guessing it correctly?)

I have righted this wrong. :)
Thanks Otto - just thought that he really earned a point for a difficult puzzle

You don´t need to add any point :-[

Surely you haven't forgotten the Red Baron fiasco Otto?
His name should be permanently removed from the Members list!

I was unaware that there was a problem before so my apologies for dragging this one back up.
I just noticed the lack of a point being awarded - that's all.
Anyway, I hope you appreciated the extra information...... :)
Indeed, I had forgotten :bag:
Point deleted.

Of course!
You weren't to know there was ever a problem as it was long before you became a Member.
I should really have called it the Great Red Baron Scandal!! His many points were reset at zero...
Make, model, who built the bodywork and when? A point if you know
british?
Yes!
The wheels make me want to say Jaguar
Follow that lead....
After that I'm stumped. RHD perhaps.
It's an attractive car.
Oops, sorry! this car isn't actually Jaguar-based in any way.... Not sure what I was confusing it with, but ignore that last answer!
Apologies to threespires for sending you off down the garden path. It IS a RHD car though...
It's been brought to my attention that this is in fact a repost, so I'll keep it here in the rookies for a while to see if anyone can get it before it gets merged
Front wheel drive?
yes!
It's a Slough-built Citroen Light 15 (12?) special built by Charles Deryck Waters around 1948, registered HAD 1. Was featured in The Automobile, February 2005.
Some background information about Deryck Waters:

Sorry Trommel but it's very important to read the AutoPuzzles rules.
There you will find that links are not allowed in the puzzles sections, for reasons which are obvious if you think about it.
I know the information is extremely interesting and relevant, but the rule is there for a purpose; anyone who wants to find out more can use Google.
Another infringement could induce a ban..
"Rules, Part 2: Posting links that compromise the integrity of other puzzles.
It is incumbent upon the poster of a puzzle to declare an answer correct. Sometimes, members like to post the links to sites where they have found the answer to a puzzle, in an attempt to offer "proof" that their answer is correct. While this may seem harmless, it has also compromised the puzzle sources of many member who cannot afford to purchase expensive volumes of automotive history."
Neither of those sites are in any way related to how I found out about the car - neither do they compromise, influence or indeed give any other information about any other vehicle.

Sorry but posting links is not allowed at all. Full stop.
Well done Trommel, it is indeed the CDW Citroen Traction special. I still can't find the previous puzzle in so can one of the mods please merge this now?
I remember this car and I remember the Charles Deryck Waters name too, but I can't find it either.
I think it may well have been part of one of woodinsight's compendium puzzles, in which case it isn't strictly speaking a reposted puzzle.
I suggest you just move it to Solved and if at some time in the future it is found it can be merged then.

Thanks Trommel. I'll merge them.
The problem was searching for the words 'Waters' and 'Citroen' - without the 2 dots over the 'e'!
Searching for 'Waters' only would have found it, as would adding 'Citroen' spelt the French way; why don't I learn?!
It is a learning opportunity. Before we post new puzzles, we have to search for both Citroen spellings. (And Horch, and Skoda, and ...)
;D

Is there any American specialty in spelling Horch ???
I was mistaken, in thinking that Horch had a special character for the "o"
I think that this is a car that deserves a recreation
Please , what is this car and by whom ? :)
Experts !
French - late 40ies or early 50ies
Perhaps out of topic: If French, were mudflaps legally required during this era? Asking for research purposes. :)
Partially French , from late 40s !
Maybe to ride in a rainy country ? :)
It's a one-off by C.D. Walters based on a "Traction" Citroên around 1948. I think he was an aircraft engineer. A beautiful and sophisticated design, and a tragedy that it never saw series production.
Yes !
"Traction" Citroên 1948 by C.D. Walters Waters !
1 point for FrontMan ! :)
It's a repost , please merged !
It is Waters, not Walters.
Merged
Sorry !

Totally makes sense now. :)
I don't have a name for this, so please can I have the base car, builder and year please?
I will be away from my computer for a few days. My apologies, but I will respond to posts when I come back.
I'm now back home
Experts?
And a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.
CDW Special, Beaver Brown coloured presented in 1948 by Mr. C. Dyrick Waters. The special was based on a pre-war Citroën Traction Avant,
That's the one!
Merged (third repost of this car)
