For one point, what is this car based on, and what powers it?
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

Experts - this is so easy?!

It's an Alvis TD based special.
Quite like it!

Easy! I hadn't noticed that the Alvis badge was still on the nose! Locked for you to tell me the date and the type of engine.

It's of 1961 vintage and said to be powered by a 5.7 litre (Ford?) V8 engine.

Correct. I have tried to find out what the engine is, but there is no info on the site. I'm guessing Chevvy Camaro but you get the point.

(PS - I love the Alvis TD/TE/TF series, they're properly engineered cars with a lot of style. It's a pity this one got made into a special. I hope it was because the body was beyond repair.)

This car will be auctioned in King's Lynn on Saturday 4th April; it has an estimate of £16-20000.
Apparently it has a 5.7 litre Chevy engine, Muncie 4-speed box and a Hurst shifter..

The windscreen surround and the flat glass suggests MG Midget (or Sprite) donor, so it can't be very big. Is it a kit-car?

Carnut

As far as I know it's not a kit-car but a one-off, but of course plenty of the bits used will have come from production cars no doubt.

Still trying to identify the base car - is it Triumph based?
