It is some kind of Jaguar Special, but for it's name I must dig in my memory deeper. ;)

EDIT: Byfield Jaguar V12 Special, based on Jaguar XJS

I knew it had featured before but try as I might I couldn't find it at all.
That's because I never thought of asking for "Byfield's", just "Byfield"...
Maybe one day I'll learn...
I think we need to be careful how we caption solved puzzles to make it feasible to find them easily on a Search.

Fellow Autopuzzlers, for a point please identify this car and the year.

Don't be naughty! Stay away from Google Search by Image, kids.

This is the Byfield Jaguar XJS-HE V12 based on a V12 Jaguar XJS, affectionately known as The Buttercup and built in Perth, Western Australia in 2003 by legend Cliff Byfield.
It's actually a double repost though!  You've been a victim of the apostrophe 's' syndrome, as the original puzzle was captioned as Cliff Byfield's Jaguar Special so wouldn't show up in a search just for "Byfield"...  I think it's time to change the heading as you're not the first to be caught out!

:crap: OK... It did seem strange to me that such a striking car hadn't been puzzled before. I still find it weird that the original thread doesn't show up when I search for "Byfield", because both you and Ecnelis wrote the name without the apostrophe in posts within the thread.
I'm not sure if I should award a point, since it's a double repost and you were the poster the second time... Is there a policy for cases like this?

There isn't a policy as such, no.
Generally the points are awarded for a re-post whatever; we all find points hard to come by and like getting them!
What I generally do when searching for cars I think must have been posted before is search by more than one criterion; as you searched for 'Byfield' and it didn't come up (as it didn't for me either...) you then search for 'Cliff' and up it pops (as it did for me!).
It's your puzzle of course but I would award the point and move on, then I'll merge the puzzles and change the title so that it doesn't happen again.
Don't forget this is only a game and there are no consequences of giving points except making someone happy!
