OK, I found it. This is called "The Owl project" and if I understand correctly, it's being developed by Aspark, a Japanese staff recruiting company... The aim is to build the fastest accelerating vehicle in the world (0-100 km/h in 2 seconds flat)

It might just be the colour, but I remember thinking, when I saw this car at the IAA last year, and compared it to the Mercedes-AMG Project One, presented at the same show, that this design actually seemed to me a much better representation of what a modern Mercedes hypercar should look like.
