Sorry, but pre the Curtana and Avalon, this car (very briefly) went under another name, and which no one has mentioned as yet.  This photo was originally used under this mystery name!

This other name was a Company's name? And in case, did this company produce any other car (or vehicles)?

AFAIK, this car was originally named after its creator (a clue!), who did not go on to produce any other cars that I know of.

This one drove me mad!
I found 7/8 articles about it and all of them with the same story:
originally named the Curtana when announced in late 1990 by Richard Ashby's The Works Design Studio in Stocksbridge, Sheffield, it was renamed Avalon S30 at his debout at Stoneleigh in 1991. It was soon renamed Avalon 250LE (because it was planned in 250 exemplars only) early 1992, when it was "at last ready to enter production" by Avalon Automotive.
...but finally, hundreds of magazines later, in 1996 (!) I found out the missing bit:
the company in charge at that time was CHARIS, from Bakewell, Derbyshire!

Is there any connection to Nicolas Bourbon?

way to go PJ :)
I don't know if that's the final answer...he wrote " pre the Curtana and Avalon, this car (very briefly) went under another name, and which no one has mentioned as yet.  This photo was originally used under this mystery name!" and "this car was originally named after its creator (a clue!), who did not go on to produce any other cars that I know of"
...I found the company that took over the project few years later and not this original 1st name  :-\

Sorry for the slow response to this on PJ, but I have only just found my original information source, which wasn't any kit car magazine, but instead a 1995 issue to Autocar magazine (where I took the photo from), written about because of its bold claim to be the first car in the world to have a plastic chassis, engine and wheels!

Considering the very short of this car, it seems to have one of the most confusing histories of all time, but Charise was the name I was looking for.  At various other times the car was also called the Avalon (S30 and 250LE), as well as the Curtana from the Works Design Studio, as has been mentioned previously.

Well done, another two points to you, to now break the 2,000 points barrier!   :applause:

2000 points PJ!
What a fantastic achievement.
It should be sent off to the Guiness Book of Records!

Thank you all!
This goal arrived the same week I passed 20000 names in my index (now are 20040!) and I finally decided to prepare a new website.
It will take time...I'll keep you posted  ;)
