This is an unusual puzzle!  For a point, what is the full name of this car, and what was it used for?

Yes, it was used for the making of a TV show, but no connection with the programme about Tim Birkin with Rowan Atkinson I'm afraid.

Eliso Freccial
Close enough, as it is an Eliso Freccia, without an 'l' on the end. This fictional car was modelled on a 1936 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900A. I will add the photo of the complete car shortly.

Well done, another point to you.

Maybe I can expand a little more..The car used during the filming of The Italian Nobleman was indeed a real Alfa 2900, owned and driven by Simon Moore. The puzzle car was used for some shots where the real one would have been at risk of being damaged. It was built by Williams & Pritchard on a VW Beetle chassis and was just barely drivable.

and the body section was acquired and became the front section of a jag based alfa replica

Thank you for the additional information all.  From what I know, the Poirot car was created by expert panel-beater Maurice Gomm, and it was used for a car crash scene, which understandably the programme's producers didn't want to damage Simon Moore's real Alfa 8C!  Here is a photo of the complete Elios Freccia, displayed in the marque's fictional London West End showroom in Balderton Street, W1.
