A made in USA, modern recreation of a classic car ?
It is indeed made in the USA, and in recent times. It is an original "neoclassic" design, not a recreation of any particular classic model
I should have used the word "evocation" instead of "recreation" indeed, it's more appropriate.
Is it powered by an American V8 ?
American V8 = Yes
GM engine ?
GM engine = Yes
Chevrolet engine ?
I will have to check my source later but from memory I'm 90% sure it was indeed a Chevrolet engine
Was the car home built or made by a company ?
homemade
Was it built after 2010 ?
Logically being a homebuilt it took a number of years, but it was finished after 2010, yes.
Was it finished in 2012 ?
Yes.
Was it built on West Coast ?
Not West Coast
Was it built on East Coast ?
It wasn't built on the East Coast either, but I will say that the location is closer to the East Coast than the West Coast
Was it built East of Memphis, Tennessee ?
Yes
Was it built East of Columbus, Ohio ?
No. The location is West of Columbus
Was it built in Indiana ?
No. The location is East of the state of Indiana
Was it built in Ohio ?
North of Ohio
Was it built in Toledo ?
Sorry, I didn't express myself correctly. It was not built in the state of Ohio, but somewhere to the north of the state of Ohio.
"The V8" by Bob Elton. Completed in 2012.
You found it! Well done. Bob Elton is an automotive historian and restorer based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and founder of the annual Rolling Sculpture Car Show in his home town. He posted a whole gallery of images about the design and build of this car on Google Plus, which is where the puzzle pic comes from, but I haven't been able to find it again. I will give it another try tonight.
Thanks for my 688th point !
I found the gallery by trawling through my browser's history. How I found it in the first place, I have no idea. Anyway, I post the original unedited image below plus a couple of others and some specs. If anyone else is interested, the complete gallery, titled "Bob Elton's V8 Saga" is publicly visible on Google Plus and belongs to a Stephen Schewe, who I assume is one of Elton's friends.
