Judging by the side pipes and wheels, a Dodge Viper wearing a corvette body?

It's a Corvette for sure, but there's no Viper relation.

1992 Falconer V-12 Corvette, built by Corvette Engineering. I've seen it at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

It is the Falconer V12 Corvette, but I have another name than "Corvette Engineering" for the company that built the car, and the car itself has a specific name. Locked for you to finish solving the puzzle.

Modifications were performed at SportsFab in Wixom, Michigan . . . . but they were done under the direction of the Corvette engineering team. And while Motor Trend magazine called it "Conan the Corvette" in their article about it, they're the only ones who ever called it that. Neither Chevrolet nor GM did, and it's exhibited at the National Corvette Museum as the Falconer V12 Corvette.

SportsFab is the company I was expecting.

Conan wasn't the name I was waiting for, but ZR-12 is. You get the point anyway as you provided most of the information.
