Well that leaves Ford as the obvious guess for engine maker. It doesn't look like the highly developed Cosworth MAE so perhaps it's an (U)nmodified (A)nglia (E)engine.

You're both correct. It is an Anglia engine , but how modified it is I don't know. It has unusual transmission arrangements, however.

The Rudeani was built between September 1962 and March 1963 by Jack Heaton-Rudd and David Dean, as essentially a 'big go-cart'. It was originally powered by a 1,000 cc Anglia engine, but was later to receive a 1,500 cc unit. It has a transverse rear-engine which in turn, with chains, drives a Norton gearbox.

That transmission hint made it quite easy !

I shouldn't have given a clue! Well solved. It raced mainly in the British national Monoposto Formula. I have no idea why the builders chose such an unusual engine and transmission arrangement.
