What's this , and by whom , for 1 point ! :)
Experts !
Any Alfa Romeo connection?
Any BMW connection?
Peugeot powered special which ran at Le Mans , mid 50s
Yes ! BMW connection
Locked for D-type !
Unlocked !
Is it French?
A postwar BMW-based car? An AFM perhaps.
Sorry for the delay !
A French BMW !
I just know the driver who is perhaps the builder !
Is it actually a Veritas? Diplomatically renamed with a politically acceptable French name?
Marcel Balsa ran a 328 engine sports/racer in the early 50s, in addition to his F2 car. Any connection?
The driver of the puzzles-car ran also a 328 engine sports/racer in the early 50s, in addition to his F2 car , and in the same races !
Locked for you !
Not Eugene Martin?
Not Eugene Martin !
Jean Caillas?
Not Jean Caillas !
It looks rather Gordini like, but I have never heard of a BMW powered Gordini except for one built by German driver Roland Mall.
I am running out of straws to clutch.
Not Roland Mall.!
Sorry but unlocked !
I have never heard of Roger Deho involved with anything other than Simca, so can we eliminate him?
Is Pierre Flahaut involved?
Not Roger Deho !
And not Pierre Flahaut !
Can I just check I have understood this correctly? This is a French BMW based car known by the name of its driver, who is therefore also French. This same driver also had an f2 car - presumably also French. Presumably it carried the same name? Is the 328 engined car you mention, the puzzle car.
Yes !
Robert Gerbout - his Lombard engined RG Speciale car was later fitted with a BMW 328 engine, but I must admit I thought his sports car was a Veritas.
or Rene Duval, although I thought his sports car was ford v8 powered.
I think I meant Pierre Duval!
Not Robert Gerbout and not Pierre Duval !
How about Paul Delabarre who ran a Simca 8 with a BMW engine
and finally there is the Monnier special which ran a BMW engine at leat in the hands of Pierre Bastien. Surely there was no other French F2 driver with a BMW powered machine. They all bought Gordinis............
Not Paul Delaware and not Pierre Bastien !
It's a driver with an other " bmw special " at the GP de Cadours and GP des frontières 1953 !
Thank you! the 2 drivers of BMW speciales at Cadours were André RIBAUT and Serge NERSESSIAN. Only Nersessian shows up at the GP DE Frontieres, but he is driving a Balsa according to one source, and his Special according to another.
I deduce that the car must be the Nersessian-BMW Special of 1953. I have never heard of him before.
Nersessian-BMW Special of 1953
1 point for tobytwirl ( Who is very persevering ! :) )
Thank you - where did you find that photo?

Nor have I. I had to double-check in my Black Book.
