For one point, please respond and identify this car.
up
Is it a 1960s French kit car?
No
up again
British?
Yes
It looks like a brand-new shell made from an old mould. Is it from Microplas?
Not the name it is sold under now.
Is it an SD 500 (later the Transformer 500), made by Stan Daniels using Alfa Romeo running gear?
No
A Maserati 450 S Barchetta recreation, made by the O.R.C. (The Old Racing Car Company)?
MG chassis ?
It reminds me very much of a Tojeiro we had as a puzzle a few years ago - I have tried every variation possible using our search, but that puzzle will not surface.
It's also very similar to bodies made by Dawes & Offord for Buckler chassis. Having said all that, this is obviously a GRP creation. Is this a shell which was available in the 1950s/60s and is now being remade from the old moulds under another name?

It is a newly made GRP creation and as far as I understand not using old moulds.
Home-made or built by a company ?
By a company
It's made by Gary Janes' new company Mid Century Re-Creations. It's called a Formosa 120GR and it uses an unmodified (!) Herald or Vitesse chassis.
It was actually quite easy to find once I got my head past the fact it wasn't from the 1960s. I Googled Sammio Maserati, and there it was.
Correct, of course.
What the fihished product looks like:
The Sormosa 120GR is due to be auctioned on 24 February by Iconic Auctions at this year's Race Retro, Stoneleigh.
