Yes, you're getting closer Oko; could be a Lock soon, but not quite there as yet.
EA 266 Roadster II by Wolfgang Möbius (part of team led by Ferdinand Piëch), potential Karmann Ghia or 914 successor.

You've got it GTE, but just to finish off the full Puzzle question, which car company was this proposed for? Now Locked to you.

Maybe I am misunderstanding, but I am not sure what additional information you are looking for.
To answer the original puzzle question, it is known as the second roadster design concept ("Roadster II") for Volkswagen's newly-developed EA 266 platform and was drawn in 1971 by Porsche designer Wolfgang Möbius (under the direction of Ferdinand Piëch).
To address your most recent question, the roadster design was intended to either replace the Karmann Ghia (VW) or act as a successor to the 914 (Porsche/VW joint). However, before either could happen, the entire EA 266 program was scrapped due to a regime change at VW.
The key additional information I was looking for was which car maker this proposal was created for, and you've now correctly mentioned Volkswagen, so the point is yours.
