In a way - neither. It was more an initiative by the maker to publicise its products. It was ostensibly entered in an event, but since that race was for sports cars it had me a bit confused. I would suggest it would have been suited to the Formula 2 category.

So is it publicising a component maker?

No. It's by an established car maker.

Former Eastern Europe?

No. The country of origin will help a great deal. ( Just to ensure that I haven't misled you - it was built with the intention to race, but I'm not altogether sure whether it actually ever did. )
