I've found a source that suggests it's a Siata based on a Fiat 500.

It is, yes, so I'll lock it for you until your next reply to see if you can enlarge and what they called it and from when it dates.

I've found Siata Fiat 750 Sport. The picture was taken on 22/06/1947 on the Mille Miglia. Unless the cars had a really rough rally I'd say its a little older than that....maybe 1946?

That's it!
I'm calling it 1947 as they built these cars for the race then they built a new one for the following year, such was the pace of development.

Here's another photo of the same car in pristine pre-race condition, which I'd saved for a potential future Puzzle. The bodywork was constructed by Motto, and I'd had it saved as a Moto Fiat.

We discussed about this car quite a lot. It's been a mistery for a long time...then I realized it was the same Siata in this puzzle. It carries the Motto badge, but there's no real proof it was done by Motto and you won't find it in Sannia's latest book.
