Sorry, I accidentally moved this topic to "News, Information and Feedback," after which I could no longer move it. I've had to delete it from there and recreate it here.

Here is what was originally posted:

(me) This make was mentioned once in AP several years ago, but it has not been the subject of a puzzle until now. Can you name that make?

Correct, it is a 1908 Rip. I believe the name is just "Rip," not the acronym "RIP".
