I suspect that the car(s) in post #24 are not accurate representations of the puzzle car.  They have partially body-colored bumpers, and don't seem to have the vertical rear tail light design.

If the front view I attach is accurate, is it likely the car was built in 1959?

You're probably right on reflection.
I tried to find a front picture which went with that rear but to be honest I got a little confused with the many variations and may have picked the wrong one...
