In Japan at that time? I can't say for sure, but the brand is not well-known today. (You can eliminate Toyota. :))

According to one source, it's a 1931 Nakajima Electric bus. According to another source it's called YKN for Yuasa Battery, Kawasaki Shipyard, Nakajima Plant. "This electric bus was a joint project of Toho Electric Power, Yuasa Battery, and Nakajima Seisakusho (Osaka Prefecture)".

This is what I have, and further described as a prototype of sorts dating from 1930. Another point for you!
