Is the engine over 2 litres?
Not an Allard, and I believe the engine size would be less than 2-litres.

Chassis from a specialist British sportscar like TVR?
No. Self build.
So if the base is British, does that mean the chassis builder was British?
Or the suspension, axles etc were from a British car?
The engine's not British. It's probably less than 2 litre. The car is Australian.

Is the engine from a Holden?
Not Holden=powered. This is a car which has been through several transformations. It was originally built in Australia on a British base car, but in the puzzle photo it has been updated and runs a different engine which is under 2-litres in capacity.
Is it now a Japanese engine under the bonnet?
Is the engine European?
Engine Italian?
German engine?

FBW SPECIAL?
Yes! Well solved. This car was originally the Lamprey Ford Special but was re-engined by Bob Wright and renamed at the same time.
