It has already been identified as the 328 with Wendler body, which on its own would make it a repost of this puzzle: https://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/2016-45/wendax-1944. But the puzzle is mainly about the driver now.

I have another picture of the car when it was raced in France, but I don't think that Garreau is the answer.  :)
