Here is Paul Plannette with his wife in his Coachcraft 39-40 Mercury. Linda's husband?
If so, he must have changed wife in between, because this lady doesn't look half as hot as Linda.

This car was completed in 1940, while the puzzle photo is dated January 1951.

A sports car built by Linda Plannette and her husband Paul in the early 1950s. The frame and much of the running gear were Mercury. Radiator shell appears to be 1932 Ford...maybe.

Precisely.  I believe the basis was a 1949 Mercury.

And here is the lovely lady herself:

Merged!

Oops...
It's a matter of spelling, since I (inexplicably) had her name with only one 'n'...

Linda is statuesque; it'd be quite a sight to watch her fold herself into that little roadster.
