Morris MG Empire Special

nicanary

Very well solved oko94. I thought the images may have been from social media, but now I know where to look. I thought the radiator was Rover or Alvis, but it's obviously a Morris 8hp.

Good puzzle.
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

That's the right car, so well done oko.

Here it is last time we had it:

https://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/2011-39/solved-neh-977-empire-special/msg153060/#msg153060

However- as I mentioned in my original post I now have more information about it so to fully solve this I need to know the name of the person who designed and built the chassis.
I'll give oko a point anyway for finding the car but I still need to know the other answer before this can be moved to solved (and merged).

In fact it was quite easy, as I just had to search for "MG Triumph" with AP search engine to find the previous puzzle !

Perhaps it was a bit over-generous to give you a point since I originally said I really need the name of the chassis designer...

At least it should be good for your karma !

Anyway, can the solution be found online ?

I'm not sure; I haven't looked.  I didn't get the information on-line...

That's what I thought. Was it published in a British classic car magazine in 2017 ?

I believe so, yes.
But don't go looking through the major ones like C&SC and Classic Cars; you won't find it there!

Was it featured in a magazine published by a classic car club ?

No - it was generally available to the public from newsagents.

What is it and who designed and built the chassis - for 1 point?:
Empire Special. Chassis designed and built by Franklin Woodcock of Houghton on the Hill, Leicestershire.

I just happened across another car forum where Mr. Woodcock himself has posted information about the car.

It's good to get it moved to Solved at last!
