After quite a long time I'm back with a new quiz: I want to know make, model and coachbuild of this nice wagon.
Looks American... But is it actually Italian?
Yes, it's italian.

Revelli?
Nor Ravelli...I never though it would have become such a nightmere.
Well I've pored through Alessandro Sannia's Encyclopaedia of Italian Coachbuilders looking only for those carrozzieri which are neither major nor obscure and I and others have tried them all without success.
There are just 2 I have left on my list so assuming it's neither of those either I'll have to change tack!
But let's try Bruna first?
Not Bruna.
And not Volpe I suppose?!
Pietroboni?
Nor Volpe, and not Pietroboni.
Thought not.
There don't seem to be any major but not obscure carrozzerie left, so... was it made by a company active only in the 1940s/1950s and are they well-known for some other models?
I'm not sure but it seems that this company is still alive....anyway I suppose it began in the fourties, it made some wagons in the fifties (one is quite known among experts), and in the second half of sixties they realized a car with Fiat base that's quite known and built in a lot of pieces.
A little clue: .....the car they built in the second half of sixties was available in Red or yellow only.
Thanks. I'll work on it.
In the meantime, you said the body wasn't built by a Turin coachbuilder.
Does that also mean not in the environs of Turin? Or is the coachbuilder on the other side of the country?
Perhaps it was Giannini from Rome?
Not Giannini...not Piedmont (the county of Turin).
In Lombardy?
Not Lombardia.

Carrozzeria Zanella?

Carrozzeria Zanella?
:applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :hyper:
And we have a winner! This car is a Fiat 1100 EL realized by Carrozzeria Zanella in 1951
Thanks!
According to Alessandro Sannia's encyclopaedia F.lli Zanella was founded in 1955 by brothers Luigi, Gino, Guido and Giuseppe Zanella to carry out body repairs.
So it seems they were around a bit earlier than that, even carrying out coachbuilding, but it's possible that the formal company was only established in 1955, hence the confusion around the date.
Sadly the cost of converting the company into modern coachbuilders in the 1960s led to the closure of the Carrozzeria in 1970.
About the date, the only clue I have is a date on the back of the picture....12.11.1951, but I cannot say who wrote it and when, of course.
