This is the 1969 Kaiserslautern Meisterstuck Buggy Projekt, based on a 1966 VW Typ 36. Front end photo to follow shortly.

Well found! Another masterpiece from the Kaiserslautern coachbuilding school. Unfortunately it fell into the hands of an ignorant tuner.

Thank you Wendax, I'd never seen an image of the car in its original 'unmolested' form, which looks so much better.

Here's the photo I had of the Kubel which I had planned to post as a puzzle at some point, so very pleased that you beat me to it

I had the "Polizei" pictures for years in my file for unknown cars. Recently an ad appeared in Motor Klassik with the picture of the original car claiming that it was built at the Kaiserslautern master school. I can add that the car had the 1500 cc 45 hp engine.
