This looks like 'Wolfwankel', a VW Golf MK I-based dragster, powered by a 450 PS Mazda RX-7 rotary engine.

Because that's what it is (except for the forgotten 's' and that it has about 800 PS meanwhile).

Meanwhile the point has arrived. After a long day on French country roads it is too hot to just fall asleep in the hotel. Heading for cool Brittany tomorrow...

Aha, I'm heading over to France late tomorrow too, to visit the Chantilly Concours just of the day on Sunday, before quickly heading back to a (hopefully cooler) England to help continue putting the final touches to this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, which kicks-off in just six days time  ???!
