This car is so generic of its period. What is it?

Was it known by its builder's name?

Was it known by its builder's name?

No. In fact I have just checked my source and there is little or no information. I think I will LOCK this puzzle for tobytwirl to finish it off.

What was the engine size? Two attempts allowed, so you can't go wrong!

2.5 litre?

Still locked for one more try - not too difficult.

3.5 litre?

And there we have it. Another point to your total.

I obtained the puzzle from a 1970 magazine. It looks so much like an Alvis special the name of which escapes me, and also the Napier-Railton. There is no clue in the advert as to the build date so it could have been in period or an attempt ro recreate a late 30s racer.

Here's the original advert.
