While it's strongly encouraged for surveillance there's no info I can find so far that mentions it being in military use.

Yes.
Locked for the design studio who made the early sketch and a bit more details on the purpose.

The info is more focused on the Four DRobot functions than the authors. What I've learnt is that the "drive by wire" prototype's creators are the Algonquin College students. The 3D render was made by Studio 63. So far, the development has been made by Four DRobotics and partners, like Carleton University, University of Ottawa, NRC-CNRC, and others. It has a lot of technology installed
for physical security, surveillence and response in real time.

Solved. Enough info for your well deserved point. :)

QuoteOur mission?
Unite a multi-disciplinary team of Robotics and Physical Security Defence Experts and Bring to Market, a world leading
AI enabled autonomous security vehicle. Our goal is to replace all manned patrol vehicles at: borders, airports, nuclear power stations, refineries and bases!

Why is The Four DRobot™  better capable for doing physical security?
- It has sensor capabilities that humans don't have.
- It's able to operate at 100% effectiveness in all weather conditions.
- Can operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The Four DRobot™ uses object detection and identification from fused sensor data leveraging deep learning algorithms and an embedded proprietary hardware architecture. Four DRobot™ is an all-wheel electric vehicle specifically designed for monitoring the perimeters of critical infrastructure 24/7- 365 days a year.

The Four DRobot™ uses the artificial intelligence known as "Goal Based Reasoning"
This enables the robot to automatically decide what actions to perform and how to perform them without human intervention.
