It has been converted/tuned in the UK.

Well, the Golf was launched in 1974, and the small bumper version was produced until 1978, so it's definitely between these two years. The Golf GTI was launched in 1976, so I guess this Cooper version was introduced before the GTI, otherwise it would have probably been based on the GTI, or it would have been irrelevant.

All in all, I would say : 1975.
