The manufacturer and type of this racer should be a task for rookies, but which race and which year is it? Who is at the wheel, who was his partner and what result did they achieve?
Score a full point for all answers!

The obvious part:
Porsche 908/3
MARTINI RACING TEAM

The tricky part:
race: 1971 ADAC 1000 km-Rennen Nürburgring
driver/(co): Vic Elford (GB)/Gérard Larrousse (F)
result: winner

Almost nothing to add except the info who is sitting at the steering wheel in the picture.

It should be Gérard Larrousse

You're right, it's the helmet of Gérard Larrousse, Vic Elford wore a red helmet! One point for your brilliant solution.
It was a typical race for the "Green Hell", as Jackie Stewart called the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Practice: Accident by Ferfried von Hohenzollern, driver okay, Porsche 908/02 not ready to start, gearbox damage on Ferrari 512M of Loos/Pesch, Herbert Müller lent them his spare gearbox!!!
The race: Brilliant start by Jacky Ickx, Ferrari 512PB, fierce battle for second place between Rolf Stommelen, Alfa Romeo T33/3 and Vic Elford Porsche 908/3, Ickx lost the lead on lap six due to loss of coolant.
Jo Siffert changed to the 908/3 of Pedro Rodríguez after the engine mounts broke.
14th lap: Stommelen/Galli: out due to engine failure.
21st lap: Ickx/Regazzoni, in the lead, out due to engine overheating.
Result: Victory for Elford/Larousse ahead of Rodríguez/Siffert, World Brand Championship for Porsche!

Here an impressive picture of this race. Please note the green barriers. Puzzle-sister-car #4 with Gijs van Lennep on the wheel, "Döttinger Höhe", I believe
