Solved NIC#1337 - 1935 F.M. by Fensom

I have found the same picture of the puzzle car in my database. Sorrily with very scarce details noted. Scanned from a magazine, but not noted from which one...

That is enough to be awarded the point. My records say 1935, and it's Arthur Sebag-Montefiore. .


He commissioned a Mr. Fensom (no first name available) to build him a car suitable for sporting events, and particularly the 1936 Monte Carlo Rally. Mr Fensom constructed this chassis copying the 1933 Invicta 1.5-litre and fitted a Villiers-supercharged Lagonda 2-litre engine. A close-coupled 4-seater body was built but never fitted. Sadly Mr. Sebag-Montefiore was killed in a flying accident and the project stalled. The chassis was bought by Peter Clark who fitted a Ford V8 and a basic body.

I can find no information about Mr Fensom apart from the fact that he was in partnership with Miles Rothwell.

The last two hours, I desperately grabbed through my database to find something more out about this car, and about its technical details. Sorry, have only small pictures of very poor quality saved. Need to know, from which magazine I scanned them, then I can offer them in better quality

There was an article in a 1935 issue of Motor Sport magazine. I don't think it mentioned the interesting history of the car including the Jameson engine.
