Eh? Surely a 3-part question merits a 3-part answer - Even if I got all 3 parts wrong)
How about a 1957 Smith-Climax Formula 2 car? (with implied question marks for each part of the answer ;) )

How about you're dead right on all counts. Built by Gerald Smith who had previously constructed an F3 racer - he built a further F2 car in 1958 which was driven a few times by Alan Stacey.
Cornering fast.
For one point, please respond and identify this car.
Fiat based. When they planned these cars they always mixed up centimeters and inches

and that's before you remember that the Prussian inch (Zoll) 26.08mm, Paris inch (pouce) 27.07mm and British inch 25.4mm were not the same! Not sure about the Italian inch (oncia) if it ever existed 8)
No Fiat connection

Is that a BMC engine under the bonnet - surely those are SU carburettors. Is it a Halton?
Not a Halton and not a BMC engine
Ford engine?
No
The car looks British even if the background does not - is it?
Yes, British
Austin 7 based?
No
Coventry-climax engine?
Yes
Is it a one-off or is it related to a small manufacturer.
Not a one-off, but almost
So if it is climax powered it is not formula junior - is it predominantly a hillclimb car?
No, it is a formula car
Formula 2 with a 1500 climax?
Yes
The 1957 Smith-Climax?
Yes, that's the one.
The hyphen strikes again!
