The engine was a Renault 8 Gordini. The car was built by Just-Emile VErnet and Robert BOnjour.

That's interesting. Vebo cars are not often mentioned on the internet , and there is no mention of this car. They raced in the late 1960s and it would be unusual for Japanese engines to be fitted by small teams. Advanced thinking by someone.
I can't say too much without disclosing my sources for my puzzles, but I think it's a handcrafted transformation. Fromwien will no doubt be able to tell us more,

Thanks for scattered roses, but sorry, I don't know too much about the 'Vebo', which has been built in 1968 by Just-Emile

Bonjour. Attached a rear view of the car, showing the engine clearly and a very artifical constructed rear suspension (using Renault-parts)
If I will find some leisure time, I'll have a look in old 'Echappement'-magazines to find out more details about that car
