A very interesting book (at least for me, for obvious reasons), but unfortunately available only in Polish. Still, most of it is pics, so it still has some merit even without knowing the language ;)

"Polskie samochody wyścigowe" ("Polish Racing Cars") by Robert Steć, published in 2011, edition limited to 1000 pcs, 240 pages, 370 photos, 87 PLN (21 EUR, 27 USD).

This book chronicles the post-war racing cars made in Poland until early 1990s (which makes it essentially all such cars, as I don't know about any pre-war polish racing constructions, nor were there really any built in the recent years, apart from a few one-offs). It mostly focuses on the Rak/Krab/Promot cars, but devotes some place to self-made cars too.

Table of content:

1. Racing one-offs
2. Rak and Krab
3. Rak Formula Junior
4. Rak Formula 3
5. Promot: Formula Polonia & Easter
6. Other constructions
7. Where are they now?

As I said, only in Polish, so probably won't be of much interest for any of you, but it's a book worth mentioning, especially that even in Poland most of the people don't know a thing about these cars, usually aren't even aware that there were racing cars produced in Poland.
It's not denial, I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

It can be bought here: http://www.poloniaracingteam.com/sklep/?4,polskie-samochody-wyscigowe but I don't know if they ship abroad. You can always PM me and we'll arrange something :)

x3, I was dreaming of such a book for a long time!!!

Yes, they do ship abroad - but as far as I understand they speak only Polish. I am in talks with the author-publisher and will get my copy next week :)

Thank you ImpishGrin for alerting me

Well, the package zig-zagged between Poland and Hungary, but it is finally here. Unbelievable. I now have a Czech book on Czechoslovak specials and a hard-cover 230+ page book on Polish specials! This one is great with nice crisp period pictures.

Okay, I have to do one on Hungarian specials (though it looks hopeles at the moment)

This book will be my next purchase, I guess, in the nearest future :)

I just got it!

Definitely amazing! I agree that there should be one for each Country. After Poland and Czechoslowakia we wait pnegyesi for Hungary and faksta for the ex-USSR...  ;)

Too early for me to write a book - so many things to dig yet, so many black holes  :)

pnegyesi

I will do my duty - though in ebook format - really soon now

The book has arrived. And what a great one it is! Many cars that I've never seen or even heard of before, definitely a bargain for the asked price!

I think there's a PM somewhere waiting for a reply...  ;)
