Carrozzeria Riva
« on: June 18, 2014, 04:29:44 PM »
Here we are. Finally a new book on an Italian coachbuilder is ready.
This time we featured Carrozzeria Riva, that's one of the oldest car (and of course carriages, when cars din't exsist yet) coachbuilders, established in 1859 and active until 1978.

It's published with both Italian and English text (thanks to a perfect translation of our Carnut) and full of original photos and drawings never seen before, courtesy of the Riva family.

The book is 92 pages with hardcover and costs 32,90 Euros. For Autopuzzles members I offer free shipping worldwide (also on the other books of Il Cammello, of course). Just PM me if you are interested.

Any comment on the book is of course welcome: this is a forum, so I also like to know your opinion (positivo or negative).

Book arrived the other day!
There are a lot of new pics and finally all Riva models can be seen!
I just had a quick look at it but I already have found a couple of unknown facts about 2 known cars, the Nibbio and the Alca Volpe, plus a great collection of 'flagship' cars (like the one below!) and many, many new cars!
Thank you, another good book for my collection!

Indeed a good read and a revelation on what is was probably the most famous obscure Italian coachbuilder.

Grazie!

Just received my copy. It is a treasure trove of information!

I guess the biggest market for these books outside Italy is probably the USA.
I'm always aware of this when writing the English text but nevertheless can only really use English expressions like 'estate car' not 'station wagon' and 'wings' not 'fenders'.

I hope you have your American - English dictionary by your side when you read the books!

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Any car aficionado should be knowledgeable enough to understand the differences in words. Thank you for the great translations btw.

There is and is coming. How soon, I can't tell, because thanks to some AP fellows I got additional information and I'm changing part of a chapter.
This means I'm late  ;), but hopefully the result will be better.

No, sorry. I'm changing something - as I wrote - so I don't think we will be able to have it printed before beginning of next year.
