Title: Stanislav Kiriletz - Avtomobili Rossijskoi Imperii (Cars of the Russian Empire)
Post by: faksta on October 10, 2009, 02:37:29 PM
This book is a great (maybe the best) source for those who are interested in Russian cars built until 1917. Nearly all manufacturers and coachbuilders are featured on 88 pages with many archive photographs. Although language is Russian only. Published in 2007, I don't know whether it is still available anywhere.

Among the attached pictures you can see a summary, where you can notice the number of featured makes of manufacturers and coachbuilders.

Almost forgot to mention that the second edition is planned as far as I'm aware, which will include some new material.

Most cars that are quite well described in this book are not mentioned even in the best encyclopedias!! A really great slim book.

Any news on the 2nd edition?
I am affraid I won't buy the book. I had a great difficulty with Czech, but then a different Alphabet altogether is a bit too much. I do know of a certain website which lists a great number of Russian cars.

I've contacted Stanislav by email some time ago, and he said nothing certain about the terms yet, he was busy with another book then - the one about early Russian military cars.
