and just VEEP ? (or SCAMP... same car different name)

fromwien

I know about the sometimes written letters "VEEP" at the font bonnet. But, sorry, this isn't the name of the car...

Julien1A

They were made by Lais Power or Hadley

I see, 'Julien1A' has added the name 'SCAMP' to his answer, which originally stated 'VEEP' only.
SCAMP is correct! Please tell me the maunfacturer, base and year. Then the point will be yours!

it is beetle based

quote from a website "The SCAMP VW KIT was built and sold out of Redding, California, in the early 70s." by Wil-Mac Product Inc

Not Hadley engineering's VEEP... but the picture is using a VEEP! They might have taken over/buy license or copy...

Exist also as Veepster by sun valley autotech or Veep by Lais Power

fromwien

Not early 70's... That was the 'VEEP'  by Hadley Engineering and 'VEEPSTER' by Sun Valley Autotech... The Wil-Mac SCAMP was much later...

1981 according to one website, 1980-1985 according to another...

fromwien

Yes, you have it! One more point for you!

fromwien

Here the ad, that causes confusion. Wil-Mac took a picture of the 'VEEP' for their own ad!
