Built before 1970?

The base car was.
Don't have a build date for this but believe it was before 1970, yes.

Was this created by an individual, or a company?

South African Davdon built by David Loudon in Johannesburg on a 1947 Triumph chassis - presumably therefore a roadster. It has a retractable hardtop. It was January's mystery car in Classic and Sportscar magazine - no -one knew it then either. I happened to pick it up while awaiting a National Health intervention, and read it cover to cover!

That's it, of course.
I was surprised we had no C&SC readers on here who could identify it straight away!
Well done.
