Please tell me the name of this car, and what powered it.

Is it a 750cc-class racer with Renault 4CV engine and wheels?

As far as I know, there is no Renault connection.

Australian?

Yes.

(I apologise for apparently having an obssession with this country and its racing scene, but it's a really fruitful source .)

I like the wonderfully creative Antipodean specials - particularly if  I can find them. In this case it is proving difficult and that does not look like a JAP engine. Is it a 500?

It is indeed a 500, but not a JAP.

Ewing-Norton?

I have no tuner's name, but it is indeed a Manx Norton motor.

Sorry, the Ewing was the car. I had no photo of it but it was described as having Renault Dauphine wheels. Anyway it was wrong and I have finally found the right one thanks to the word Manx in the browser .....................Don Ubergang driving the Hire Weld Special with the supercharged Manx engine at Templestowe in 1964!

You clearly know where to look - well found. Apparently there were Hartnett  bits in the car.

Another point to you.
