One of the most famous trucks! Producer should be easy. But what about the precise type designation and the production period?

One point for the complete answer.

Yes, that's right. My source says end of production: 1971, others 1974. May be exemplars for export. So, 1972 is OK and this is your point.

Bill, may you please explain to the other users how to tell the difference between F201 2SA and F201 2S from the outside.

I still owe you the solution to the question where the picture was taken. The building in the background is the Bernard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine at the Hamburg harbour.

BTW, the title should read Hanomag-Henschel. The truck was a Henschel development, but the puzzle truck is one marketed under the combined brand.

Wendax, thank you for the solution of the picture puzzle. With the note on the manufacturer's name you are, as, almost, always right.  ;)

I think the name difference comes from the length of the wheelbase
Thanks for the point

No, sorry.
"S 2" is a 6x2/4 semi-trailer tractor. That means 6 wheels, thereof 2 driven wheels and 4 steered wheels.
"S 2A" is a 6x4/4 semi-trailer tractor. That means 6 wheels, thereof 4 driven wheels and 4 steered wheels.
"S" stands for Sattelzug, german for semi-trailer. "2" stands for two steered axles and "A" for Allrad, all-wheel driven. It is not a real AWD but so they discribed the difference to the one-axle driven version.
Here a picture of a "S 2". If you compare the hubs of the second axles, you see the difference between driven and not driven. S2 same hub at axle one and two. S2A hub at axle two like the front-axle hub of a AWD truck like F 161 AK which I also add.
So, that was the daily truck-technologie training.
