Another Picture Needed
« on: January 14, 2009, 04:20:16 PM »
The basis for the Audi Rosemeyer concept car was based on proposals done around 1934 for the never-built Auto Union/Porsche Type 52.  It was to be a coupe version of the Type B (also known as Type 22) Auto Union racer, with three abreast seating and the driver sitting in the middle.  So far I've found some information but no images of the 1934 proposal on the internet.  Does anyone have an image(s) they can share or a source for images?

Thanks!

Extremely interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Concerning the car - was it intended as a sportscar racer?

Hope to see it's replica someday - the car is simply beautiful...

It's a three-seater! That's interesting.

Thanks!  It was to be a de-tuned (down to about 200HP) version of the racecar for the street.

Still had its supercharger, though. I'd have thought 4950 cc could have produced 200 h.p. unblown at that time (cf. Bugatti Type 57S @ 170 h.p. from 3257 cc)
Opinionated but sometimes wrong
