Title: Baston Car Show 2012
Post by: gilescooperuk on July 02, 2012, 07:16:09 PM
Have a look at a few pictures (well 250) taken at a local car show near Peterborough, England.

Although this is a small local show it has a good varied turnout - Almost every car there was taken as I was the official event photographer.

This was quite a big event, wasnt it?

I have never seen this Austin Vanden Plas 2.0 Converitble before.
Does anyone know if it was a one off?

I should have kept this one as a puzzle. But as it is captioned on the website I can't really do that.

It is one of a pair which were commissioned by Rover and were built by Crayford. The entire roof and back window is the soft top with no cross members. To do this they added extra strengthing under the floor and up the sides.

However Rover decided not to go any further with the project. The other example still exists and is on the road somewhere.

I need access to my main machine and I will post a rear view of the car later.

I´ve always liked this body style.
It´s a very appealing idea to me to convert a modern limousine into an oldfashioned Cabriolimousine, as we call it in German.
