In a former puzzle with a minicar called the Kleinschnittger (see below) I wrote "Have you noticed how often you can see pictures of those microcars with someone (preferably a woman) lifting the back as easily as a litter can cover ?"
Next I had an answer from Paul Jaray, who wrote "Woman lifting a microcar, Part - 2" with the second picture below, a woman lifting a Peel.
I am adding another picture (a man lifting a Bamby).
Now another with a mystery car (Woman lifting a microcar, Part-3). That woman does really pull some muscle.
What you puzzlers have to do is:
1- Identify that car. One point for that.
2- Find as many pictures as possible of women lifting microcars (men are accepted, though, but...). Each picture will grant you one point.
-
Brutsch Mopetta 1957
-
All right. That was kind of easy. Now come the hardest part.
-
Well, the Kleinschnittger, the Peel, the Bamby and the Brütsch are identified so now comes the fun-part:

Swell !
I had fun too with your pics 1 and 4, thanks. But they don't really show microcars, do they? Just very strong women. So they're not giving you any points. You only get two.
Well done.
-
Just for the fun of it. I don´t want points for that. I think it´s a great idea to let others search for interesting car related motifs. Let´s see, what will come up here later...

Moreless....

Thank you guys. I enjoy your answers as much as you enjoy that "puzzle" it seems. To be fair, I should add @re's post to another puzzle "But did you notice how the woman in the first picture is just standing there waiting for the right moment to pick up the car by the bumpers and lift it?" (see pic below). This one would be in the category "women about to lift a microcar.
Just for the fun of it. I don´t want points for that. I think it´s a great idea to let others search for interesting car related motifs. Let´s see, what will come up here later...
I don't agree with that. It wasn't easy, and I guess you deserve 3 points altogether, if I count one for the second Brütsch (trouble is, I don't remember if I already added the first two).
-
I think you´ve added the first two points already...
-
I think you´ve added the first two points already...
So, here's another for the Brütsch Zwerg.
-
I think I have a picture of my wife lifting a door of an E30 BMW 3-series by one finger, does that count? ;D
-
Just how micro does it have to be? By modern standards, I'd say this one is pretty small ;D

Matiz seems all right. One point.
@Cabrius: let's see the pic and I'll decide.

Your picture didn't come through...
-
I guess that site didn't allow hotlinking. Attached now.
-
That green person looks to be a woman (and I said men were allowed in moderate quantities anyhow). One point. What car is it? Never seen that.
-
:D
Great pics!
The red one might be a Crosley.
-
Yes a Crosley.
-
I've put my glasses on. The woman in green seems to wear a beard and a yellow headband.
-
A new picture -sent by Grobmotorix for another topic- of someone lifting a mini car. That's another point for him.
-
I know it's bending the rules but I found a picture of Colin Chapman lifting a Lotus 11 frame, I know it's not a Microcar or even a complete car but it is very light.
-
Appreciated and amusing, neilshouse, but irrelevant. I have a picture of myself lifting a ladder but I don't believe I would accept it either.
-

Stingy bastard.
;)
-
The picture sent by Grobmotorix is the 1950 'Carosse' by Paul Arzens.
-
We knew it was an Arzens car but "Le carrosse" is news. I checked that in my books and you're right. Thanks.
Well chosen name. It does remind me of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation I must say.
However, I am not sure that this can get you a point, as this is not the challenge here. And I can be (see above) a "stingy bastard".
But I'll be happy to give you one for any picture or a "woman" lifting a microcar. She can even look like Mr T, it's OK.
-
It decidedly seems that Paul Arzens liked to lift his own cars. Here is a picture where he applies that treatment to "L'Oeuf".
I found it myself :hyper: but I'm not eligible for another point :shakehead:
-
Ah - the egg! I'm sure he could flip it over, easy.
That was one of our first-over puzzles here, over two years ago. What a long, strange trip it's been. O0

I had word that someone expected this to be moved in the pro section. Happy to please you, Paul.
-
Have two more to share:
-
I am happy to let you all know that, having found two car-lifter friends, Allemano just scored twice and so reached his first hundred points.
-

Thank you very grazie!

The Tubes.
-
I used to like them. Like so many other fringe bands, after one big hit, it all went to hell...
-
Having found 3 more pics of people lifting microcars, Paul Jaray is entitled to 3 more points (as if he needed them...) But, careful: this puzzle is about micro-cars. Two of yours, if not really "micro" are just quite small, but I'llaccept them this time. As for your third and fifth pictures, Paul, they bring you peanuts: the 3rd for showing SEVERAL men lifting a car. The 5th because, if I already eventually accepted men instead of women, gorillas are definitely OUT!
As for Bezor's proposal... it's a woman alright (and what a woman!), but the car is definitely full-size. Besides, see the first page, I had already rejected it.
-
Great!
One of these pic will became a quiz in a few days....
-
Here's a good one, but I don't know if it qualifies (I made the rules, I know, but this one leaves me speechless.)
-
Not very spectacular:

-
Here's a good one, but I don't know if it qualifies (I made the rules, I know, but this one leaves me speechless.)
Yep - it's a Norwegian picture which is nicely cropped right where you'd see that the truck is trying to lift something that's a bit too heavy (can't remember what though).
-
Not very spectacular:
I didn't forget the point.
-
Same car; same woman - different pic.
-
I was about to say "the different gets you a points, but the two same take it back.
Then, I re-read the rules, who say that every picture gets you a point.
So here it is.

Another one:

-
One more, please.

Perhaps one more?
-
Must it be the entire car?
-
OK, just one more.

-

Yep, but we love to see pictures of ladies pulling some muscle anyway!
-
OK, just one more.
She's pretending! Nice try again. Nevermind, we also love to see pictures of ladies with red eyes!
-
With no female contributors involved, I know these two are only second rate candidates but... well, I still found them worth posting. The above is an early example – maybe a prototype – of the Czech Velorex, the other one is a Bond Minicar.
-
Another one:
(unfortunately watermarked!)
Houlala!
I've let many answers to this one pass by. So, Allemano gets a point for the first picture (the others, showing several men lifting a micro-car, get you none, as you can check above).
-
One more, please.
This one from Otto may be the best of the lot (too bad the picture is so small). Well the car may not exactly be a micro-car but the picture is so funny that it's well worth a point.
Your second proposition gets you none, being just a crude Photoshop job. I have been giving a deep thought to the third and it's not worth one either:
- we read "...young Ellen had a steel hold on the rrear bumper" and we don't actually SEE that she is lifting the car. On the contrary, the rear wheels seem to be still on the ground, scraping the blacktop. Besisdes, it's not a micro-car, and a second exception would be perceived as an invitation to keep on trying to fool me, wouldn't it?
-

Ehhxekt, although I am deeply grateful to you for finding 5 of my "On the road movies", for the same reason given to Allemano, no points for these (several men lifting a micro-car)
Thanks for expanding my collection, though.
-
and a second exception would be perceived as an invitation to keep on trying to fool me, wouldn't it?
Not at all.
-
I have two more for you.The first, as you can see written on the car, is a tiny racer called the Arlen Special. But who was Arlen?
The second is a new puzzle that you can solve in the Expert section.
-
It took a bit of time, but the pictures are finally on air thanks to Otto.
-
Ok, just for fun....
-
..and one for real...
-
...your call...
-
again...
-
God Gracious! I had never thought this one would bring so many answers !
Paul, according to the rules I have set (and as I have allowed pictures of men also), you deserve a point for the "bubbles" picture only. In "minilift" the guys seems to pretend and I don't think that the car effectively leaves the ground. All the others are not minicars.
Now I think I will declare this puzzle solved. If you guys find other suitable pictures ot add you'll be welcome to enrich this collection, but this will get no point from now on.
-
So I'm just a bit too late with this - another addition from the treasure chest, for your entertainment :)
-
Thanks, that's a cool one anyway.
-
...And how about this one? ;) IMHO it's cool picture :D
-
???
-
Sorry Arunas. I had seen it and appreciated, but as you can read above, this one has been declared solved. And, although all contributions are still welcome, they give you no point, like for instance the "Information requests" topic. Something that you should understand.
-

Absolutely! ;)
-
My father in law and I lifted my Lotus Seven clone out of a U-haul truck - sadly no pictures of that. I did find this.
-

Thanks Arthur. Appreciated. This topic is about to become a real encyclopedia. Anyhow, it confirmed a feeling I had in a remote corner of my brain, when I started it: why do most people, in presence of a minicar, feel such an urge to LIFT IT?
-
Because they can.
-
This one is over but, while going through Otto's excellent "Thumbnailed puzzles", I stumbled upon this one by Graywolf. For reasons explained above, it can't get him any point, but I thought it was a fine addition to this collection. Thanks, Graywolf.
-
I'd love to know the story behind that stunt!
-
I'd love to know the story behind that stunt!
I'd love to see the hook above that truck!
-
If you watch carefully you can see that the strong man is slightly more blurred than the soldiers sitting on the tank. Also the rear wheels are amateurishly cropped.
I'm sure it's only a funny Photoshop stunt....
-
We've already had this Bond Minicar, but it's another picture with other muscle pullers!
-
And we've already had, elsewhere, this Electric BMA Hazelcar prototype;
But no none said it was forbiddent to LIFT IT !
-
not sure if this counts but its got to be close

-
This topic thanks you very much, as it feels closer to completion now! (although completion is not of this world).
Thanks also to Arthur Dent and Grobmotorix for their last submissions!
-
I hope this one is not among the unsolved puzzles. I spilled the beans about this recently, so it would be too easy to post it as a new one.
-
A rovin:
-
A true Champion:
-
Sweeeeet!
-
Fantastic! And two new categories added to this topic:
-lifting a car while smoking a cigarette butt
- lifting a car with TWO girls in traditional costume in it
-
Unfortunately it hardly fullfills the two new categories, but anyway quite worth a look.
This time it comes from Spain:
-
Yet a fine addition to our collection, in a category of its own:
lifting a car with the missus in it (and the husband seems to show some signs of strain).
-
His spouse seems to tease him; maybe he tips her out...
-
Who said that I couldn't post a car myself in this topic?
-
A video entry

Another one : Nice BMW
-
No dice. Super heroes are OUT, Joao.
If not, this topic would have a hundred pages.
-
Another one:
-
It never ends:
-
Pussycar? Was that its name? Lovely. The sixties sure were fun on the Champs Elysées.
-
Yes, it's one of several 'Pussycars'. Maybe I just gave away another puzzle car, but think it's better archived here in the 'adult area'.
-
Another one:
-
Cool!
"Auf dem Ast" wie man hier im Ruhrgebiet so schön sagt! ;D
-
Might be a nice puzzle, too...

Already done! ;)

Endre Surányi's third and final microcar from 1949. At the left side is Endre

It looks just horribly fragile....
-
Another one - well, kinda fake, of course...
-
Nice!
Are you sure it's a fake? Can't the weight of the tank temporarily lift the truck front?
-
Well, that´s why I´ve called it a fake. He does not lift the truck himself, of course...
-
Don't forget this inflatable Bedford !
-
:D
-
And another one:
-
if only they were smoking too...
-
Though this topic is officially closed I dare to post another one:
-
Great pics!
I don't think I said it was closed. Just that it wouldn't get you points from now on, just candy bars.
-
A MW Cityboy is soooo light too:

My car is sooo light that I can lift it while elegantly smoking a cigarette!

This winning car must be light

I´ve found two new and very similar photos:

#1 - Not a complete car but I think this young lady deserves credit for lifting it clean over her head... If only she was smoking
#2 - Yet another new category? 'Famous Racing drivers being lifted in tiny cars'...

Here's the Champion!

A slightly different version of a photo we´ve had here before:

By the way, would an editor move this thread to the "featured Imagery" section, where it's more suited and will be easier to find?

Did we have him before?

I don't know if this has appeared here before as a lot of the earlier pictures need to be opened, which will take forever...
I don't know the make, just that the photo was taken in Paris in 1946 and the car was said to extremely economical:

Good one!

I really like this photo...

Paul Arzens doing it too:
