Who has not taken a picture of a loved one or friend with a car? Or had their picture taken with their car? In this thread you'll find candid non-professional pictures of cars. Each picture seems to imply a story. Perhaps the car had just come home from the dealer, and pride of ownership overcame the new owner? It could be that the owner had spent spent untold hours tweaking his car to his own unique taste. Maybe the car had taken the people to an adventure. Or, maybe it was the adventure. Perhaps, like the car, the photographer saw his or her significant other as a possession or trophy. I suspect many of the people in these pictures are no longer with us, or have long forgotten when, where or why these scenes were shot.
I hope you'll enjoys crafting your own scenarios for these people and their machines. And, as always, please add some of you own. :)

Pt 2

Nice idea!
Here's a selection. As Otto said in his preamble, there's a story behind each one, but that is going to be left to the viewer's imagination. :)

Every picture...

...don't it?

Different cars, same boy.
By the way, I love the one with the guy trying to sell his own book (My flight to Venus! :o) in front of his car...
-
Is that your lad? Those are some great cars on which to build a lifetime of automotive enthusiasm.
-
Sure it's him. Thirty years younger than the cars.

A mixed bag of people, places and things.

The tough part, with this kind of thread, is to make sure that one is not posting a picture that's already there somewhere above.
But this one is invaluable...
I offer no guarantees.
-
This Tucker photo seems to be a period pic. What year? The car looks like it has seen some miles.

:scratch:North Americans often forget that we're not all Americans. This comment is to me as obscure than would be, to you "J'aime la photo de pub Simca avec Tonton. Dommage qu'il soit pas resté dans le coin pour vendre la Tagora!
Besides… it's a Lincoln, here... ;)
-
 I just saw that pic in a magazine article about Ford's first new postwar cars.
Being a bit of a film buff, I was sure you would remember what was, perhaps, Ron's best known role. Reagan played the part of Notre Dame football player George Gipp in Knute Rockne: All American.
And the last thing he said to me, "Rock," he said, "sometime when the team is up against it and the breaks are beating the boys, tell them to go out there with all they've got and win just one for the Gipper"
-
I didn't make the connection, having not seen that film, and found out only after posting my comment. The roles I associated Reagan with were Jack Browning in The Killers - a baddie, and Cowpoke in Tennessees's Partner - a nice guy.

In picture #43 of this post by Otto, the little girl in the trunk was Kate Barry, daughter of John Barry, musician, and Jane Birkin, actress (here seen with second companion Serge Gainsbourg).
Kate died a few days ago, following a fall from her fourth floor window.

Usually, in this section, the pictured "people and their cars" are more important than the background. But cars are made for travels, and if I was that man, what I would maybe remember first is the countryside.

(I had matching belt and braces (suspenders to the US).

In the US, they're 'suspenders' with everyday clothes and work pants; they are braces when wearing a nice suit or tux. :)
