Group C cars at Le Mans

Yes I know I haven't posted my Le Mans article yet but fresh out of the camera are these shots of yesterday. The group C cars that won Le Mans 15 years back made a staggering comeback. If you have never heard the Mazda rotary engine go by at 6 ft from you at 18,000 revs you have never benn deafened!
To start with, just the Group C cars in the pits. I have many others I'll post when I have time but for those of you old enough the sound of the Mazda, like a mosquito in the ear, was an exquisite memory of the 80/90's.

Definitely my favorite era for sports car racing. I got to meet a few of those cars one summer at the Mid-Ohio vintage races, and it was by far the coolest automotive encounter of my life.
