Title: Santa Cars
Post by: Otto Puzzell on December 21, 2009, 06:02:01 AM
In the spirit of Arthur Dent's "Snow Vehicles" thread (and in the spirit of the season, too) I searched for some photos and illustrations of Santa Claus with old cars. Please add your own pics.

Nice picture. Once reversed, one sees that it's not London, but Bullock's Wilshire in Los Angeles.

This year, Germany's Spiegel Magazine asked carmakers to offer new designs for Santa's sleigh. Here's the offering from Mercedes:

Pretty cool, huh? Those are some pretty happy looking reindeer!   ;D

For the rest of the designs, visit the Slide Show (http://www.spiegel.de/fotostrecke/fotostrecke-50154.html)

I guess they put the animals INSIDE the vehicle for safety reasons... Reminds me of this ad: ('we reinvented safety - the new A-class'):

That's pretty funny, Mike!   ;D  Wasn't the A-Class delayed quite a long time because it failed the "reindeer test" by flopping over on its side during emergency avoidance maneuvers?    ???

It was, indeed, though actually it weren't reindeer but elks... A simple test to avoid something that was suddenly crossing the way, a test that even the Trabant could stand without any problem. To resolve the problems Mercedes gave the A-Klasse a security device that was until then only available on the top-line S-Klasse: ESP (Elk Security Package)  ;D

*grins*

I thought of this thread earlier this week.  Mercedes has a neat commercial out where Santa Claus is walking through his collection of red MBs ... chooses one, then heads out where the "reindeer" (Silver MBs) are waiting for him....
