Title: Service vehicles for Television broadcasting
Post by: thorax on May 06, 2020, 06:22:34 AM
it seemed interesting to me to propose some vehicles made to support the television broadcasts of the countries in the world.
I start with the vehicle made for EIAR (now Italian Radio Telavision - RAI) taken up in 1930

In 1940, Viotti constructed two of these vehicles on Fiat 508 C/1100 Coloniale chassis for use by EIAR in Italian East Africa. The vehicles never reached their destination, however, as the ship transporting them was sunk.

Those Fiats in the ship are sadly impressive...

I also have saved several photos.
Here are some filming/TV-broadcasting vehicles.

I happen to know where your fifth picture showing the NDR broadcasting van was taken. Sadly the old building was demolished in 2012.

No idea on how to post pictures but use Google and look for the Alfa Romeo 500A with body by Mario Revelli di Beaumont. Wonderful streamlined body built on an Alfa 500A bus chassis for the Italian Radio/Television company EIAR (predecessor of the RAI) with a roof that could be could be opened and bars on the roof to hold onto when a reporter would stick himself out of the roof. This vehicle also had a matching trailer in similar design. Truly great design if you ask me. In this thread there's one picture with the roof closed.
