This year's show was as large as ever, and the weather was very hot, so I gave up after a couple of hours. (It's a 90 minute drive from my home anyway). I am getting old now - everything seemed so new, like a Youngtimers Show. Rows and rows of grey porridge from the 1980s/90s and even newer. One exhibitor sat proudly next to his Mazda MX5 but it was the latest model, which began production in 2015. I mean, just WHY ? No veteran cars, a few Model Ts from the 1910s, and this year a lot of Americana - must be a big thing in Ireland.
One image is mundane - a Morris Minor tourer, but it is an early one, lowlight and all. My aunt had one just like it, same colour, bakelite controls and leather seats. She was a terrible driver. My father instructed me to sit in the front seat and take control of the steering wheel if it became necessary. I was all of 10 years old.
I hope the photos get onto this page. Earlier today it told me I had already used them elsewhere on the site. Odd.
