Title: DeTomaso Pampero- Anyone know where it is?
Post by: Avalanche on October 15, 2012, 09:48:14 AM
Hi Folks,

I work for a gentleman who collects rare exotic cars and is particularly interested in prototype or one-of cars. He has a number of DeTomaso cars including the Mangusta Spyder prototype, the Ghia Sport 2000 and the Fantuzzi Sport 1000. He would love to acquire the Pampero but the search to this point has proven to be fruitless. Given the collective knowledge base of the membership here I thought I'd take a shot in the dark and see what we could come up with...  ;)

Please feel free to PM me if you'd rather keep the information private.

Thanks!

Many of the full-cover images of the Pampero appeared in Car Styling Quarterly #8/Japan, 1974.  That might be a good place to start looking.

I don't possess specific knowledge of the car, I just found this information after a quick search.

We know lots about the car and have just acquired a bunch of Ghia factory photos of the Pampero and a number of other DeTomaso models built by Ghia.

We want the car... ;)

Have you tried writing to Mr Giugiaro himself at ItalDesign?
I'd wager he knows where it is, assuming of course it still exists (and he'll know if it doesn't as well).
